‘Every pay day I’d buy drugs and gamble… I’d be so ashamed. I’ve gambled away around £40,000’

Based in Co Armagh and now in recovery, Dillon Mackin explains that his struggles began in his early twenties when he started an apprenticeship. Withdrawing from his social circle and giving up sport gradually led to gambling and substance abuse. Four years on from when his addiction began, Dillon is using his experience to show that there “is light at the end of the tunnel”.
