A man who brought Pablo Escobar’s old 727 jet and turned it into an Airbnb in Brislington is to reveal a plan to bring another jet plane to the area.

Johnny Palmer, who brought much of Bristol to a standstill when he arranged for the fuselage of a Boeing 727 to be transported through Bristol and to the Skyline Park in Brislington in 2021 says he wants to install a second plane – but this one would be on top of some community buildings.

The businessman, who this week is auctioning off more than a million pounds of media tech equipment after selling off his events company Pytch, is holding a public engagement day in six weeks, and inviting people in Brislington to come and see his plans and share their ideas for what he said would be a ‘fun’ community space.

“I am looking at doing something really exciting at the top of Bonville Road involving another airliner which will also benefit the community,” he explained. “But first I want to get input, thoughts and ideas from the community, as well as understand any concerns anyone has,” he added.

The event will take place at the Pytch Air site, where the existing 727 is now Bristol’s most unique AirBnB and event space, on Saturday, April 5. “Families and people of all ages welcome, I would love to see a bunch of you there,” he said.

An abandoned Boeing 727 plane has been transformed into the world’s coolest Airbnb on a Bristol industrial estate

“The plan is to have a space that has co-working, a cafe which is already there, a community sauna or spa, hopefully a community meeting place and some fun accommodation. This will hopefully bring a lot of activity to the area at the weekend as well as provide good income to the area and more jobs,” he said.

“I am hoping this next one will be able to add a lot more to the community and make an otherwise industrial area a bit more fun,” he added. He said the community engagement day on April 5 is being organised to find out what local people think and what ideas they might have. To go along on the day, click here to register your interest.
