Lorraine Kelly has responded to the news that Queen Camilla has welcomed a new addition to the Royal Family.
The Queen has revealed she’s taken on an adorable eight-week-old rescue puppy, lovingly named Moley, after the heartbreaking loss of her Jack Russell Terrier last year.
The Royal shared the news of her latest addition while taking part in a visit to the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, based in Canterbury, on Tuesday (February 25).
During Wednesday’s (26 February) instalment of ITV’s Lorraine, the presenter discussed the happy news and shared her reaction. She told viewers: “Good for her, that’s great!”

During her visit to Canterbury on Tuesday, where she unveiled a life-size bronze statue of writer Aphra Behin, the Queen interacted with a guide dog while chatting with a partially-sighted museum group.
Camilla commented on the “affectionate” nature of guide dogs, before revealing: “I’ve just got a new puppy, she’s eight-weeks old,” to one of the dog owners.
As somebody enquired about the breed, the Queen added: “You may well ask, a bit of everything. It’s a rescue dog. It’s called Moley – it looks just like a mole.”
Moley was welcomed into the royal household after being adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, born on Boxing Day to a mother who is half Jack Russell, with the rest of the lineage unknown including the father’s breed.

The Queen was left devastated when her Jack Russell Terrier, Beth, passed away last November. The 77 year old shared the sad news that Beth had succumbed to an incurable tumour and had to be euthanised.
The dog was adopted by Camilla from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2011 when she was only 12 weeks old, having been found tied to a lampost. Both Beth and Bluebell – another of Camilla’s dogs – made history three years ago as the first rescue dogs to reside in Buckingham Palace.
Bluebell was also aopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2012. She was found wandering alone in a London park with a painful skin condition.
Lorraine airs on weekdays from 9am on ITV1
