Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley brought the nation to a standstill with a breaking news announcement following Donald Trump’s sharing of an odd AI-generated video that depicts his vision for Gaza as part of his proposed plan.

The GMB presenters was covering the latest global headlines on Wednesday (February 26) when they introduced the contentious footage uploaded by the former US President.

The video, bearing no comment from Trump on his Truth Social account, contrasted the current war-torn state of Gaza with a futuristic vision labelled “2025… What’s Next? ”

Under this transformation, Gaza morphed into what looked like a paradise with pristine beaches, towering skyscrapers reminisce of Dubai, luxury yachts, and scenes of celebration.

After presenting the clip to ITV audiences, reactions were solicited from both Susanna and Richard along with commentators Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce. Pierce described the video as “jaw-dropping” while Maguire forthrightly expressed: “Trump shouldn’t be in the White House.”

Further discussion ensued with Andrew highlighting Trump’s electoral success, but Susanna responded to clarify the context saying: “Yes he’s won an election but he’s posting this. There is devastation and death in Gaza.”

Maguire added to the gravity of the situation by stating: “47,000 people have been killed and a vast majority are women and children who weren’t fighters and he’s doing that.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In a subsequent segment, Defence Secretary John Healey MP joined the conversation but admitted he had not seen the video prior to his interview on GMB, rendering him unable to comment.

The video has sparked backlash

The contentious video features a “Trump Gaza” tower and an oversized, golden statue of the former US president, with smaller replicas for sale in a gift shop. The clip shows a child meandering through the street holding a large, golden balloon resembling the president’s head.

Further scenes include the controversial leader grooving with a barely-dressed belly dancer in a bar, as well as lounging and imbibing cocktails next to a hotel pool alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Tech mogul Elon Musk is also spotted multiple times throughout the footage: once relaxing on a beach while indulging in humous and flatbreads as bearded belly dancers entertain nearby, and later flinging dollar bills in the air amidst a crowd.

Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid
Richard and Susanna branded the video “bizarre”

A custom song plays throughout with verses such as: “Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear: Trump Gaza’s finally here.”

And continuing with “Trump Gaza’s shining bright, golden future, a brand new life. Feast and dance the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.”
