Bet you didn’t think it was possible for that many Maseratis to be recalled at one time! Yes, the low-volume Italian marque doesn’t see a whole lot of sales in the Great White North, but it’s nevertheless recalling some 2,833 vehicles in Canada; and another 27,354 in the U.S. due to a backup camera that may not work properly, an issue caused by a radio software problem. Yes, a radio software issue is messing with a bunch of Maserati rearview cameras.
According to a recall report submitted to the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), Maserati notes some vehicles may have radio software that prevents the media screen from getting a signal from the backup camera. If the rearview camera isn’t working correctly, it could reduce the driver’s visibility when backing up, and lead to a possible crash. And really, who’s trying to crash a Maserati?
The affected vehicles include:
- 2021-2024 Maserati Ghibli
- 2021-2024 Maserati Levante
- 2021-2024 Maserati Quattroporte
- 2022-2024 Maserati MC20
- 2023-2025 Maserati Grecale

In Canada, the law regulates that all vehicles since May 2018 are required to have a working backup camera. Owners of affected Masers will be notified by mail, and an over-the-air update will be sent out; alternatively, owners can take their vehicle to a Maserati dealership to have the update performed in person via a USB cable, free of charge.
