Lorraine Kelly slammed Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria, blasting their choice to star in their own reality series as “very strange”.

The Scottish TV star, 65, was joined on the programme by showbiz correspondent Ross King and Hannah Fernando, Editor of Woman and Home magazine, as they all sat down to discuss the series.

The Hollywood American actor and his family have granted camera crews access to their lives for a brand new reality series, The Baldwins.

Their new on-screen adventure sees Alec and Hilaria raising their seven young children together, with episodes being broadcast on TLC in the US and on Discovery+ in the UK.

However when delving into snippets from the first episode, Lorraine and Hannah agreed that the series appeared to be somewhat “tone deaf” with the Scottish presenting labelling the series as “very strange” in a two-word response.

Kicking off the conversation, Lorraine stated: “Ross, I find it utterly utterly bizarre.” Ross responded: “I’m not a fan of reality TV you know because I think the only thing that’s real about it is the word real being in reality itself.”

The showbiz expert added: “I find it watchable but i’m still trying to figure out why they actually would do it? I think Alec comes out of it better that Hilaria but then he’s a huge movie star and he’s got charisma.”

Lorraine interrupted: “Watching that and looking at that I just find the tone very strange. You know one minute they’re talking about… and there’s kids running about… and there’s plinky plonky music and it’s all bedlam. Then they’re talking about something so serious and so devastating.”

Hannah Fernando, Editor of Woman and Home magazine, added: “That’s the problem, it’s tone deaf. I think the whole thing because this is a reality show a fly on the wall documentary of their family.”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am.
