Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is spicing things up with her husband Chris Hughes in a rather unusual way.
Describing Heart Radio as “free therapy” where she often discusses her long-standing marriage, she decided to share an update on their newfound challenge.
She explained: “I’ve been married for over 20 years, well I met him in 2003, I can’t work it out.
“Anyway, a long time, and our lives have been very separate for a long time because we’re both very busy.”
Her co-host Jamie Theakston interrupted to light-heartedly suggest that the build-up sounded like a “big announcement”, to which she quickly clarified that it wasn’t.
“Obviously we’re very happily married, but we do lots of things separately, like I love my peloton and running, he goes and plays squash. He’s got a massive career as well, we’re always separate you know,” she added.
She went on to say during a recent “romantic” holiday, Chris suggested they should spend some more time together and take up a hobby they can both enjoy.
After agreeing that she’d find some time of it, Amanda said her spouse has since surprised her with a booking at a Badminton court.

“We often play it in the summer in the back garden and with the kids,” she shared.
“It’s such a good game, I’ve always loved it. We are going to be playing our first ever Badminton match tomorrow.
“I love a Badminton racket, because you can really whack that shuttlecock and I love the noise.”
Amanda further revealed that she’ll be providing an update later this week to see if the sport is something they can continue to enjoy together.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge met Chris, a record producer, shortly after her divorce from Les Dennis and they are proud parents to two daughters; Lexi and Hollie.
Previously discussing the secret to their enduring marriage, Amanda credited a good sense of humour as one of the key factors.
She added to OK! Magazine: “Plus, I really fancy Chris. We’ll be eating dinner in a restaurant, he’ll go to the loo, then I’ll look up and catch a glimpse of a man and think he’s fit! Then I’ll realise, ‘Gosh, that’s my husband!’
“Also, Chris challenges me and I challenge him – that’s another secret to a good marriage.”
