A biker has been rushed to Southmead Hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a lorry this afternoon, Monday, February 24. An air ambulance landed at the scene of the collision at around 2.45pm on Dean Road, Yate.
The biker suffered a serious leg injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment, police have said.
A major emergency service response was called to the scene. Air and land ambulances and a hazardous area response team were in attendance, as well as police and fire crews.
A witness told BristolLive: “Multiple agencies were involved, police, ambulance, the fire brigade and an air ambulance. The RTC was a van, turning in to Dean Road.”
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at about 2.45pm today (Monday 24 February) to attend a collision involving a motorbike and a lorry in Dean Road, Yate.
“The motorcyclist has suffered serious leg injuries and he’s been taken to hospital for treatment. The road remains closed at this time.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 14:42hrs on Monday 24 February to a road traffic collision in Yate.
“We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a tactical commander, and the hazardous area response team to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”
