Mere hours remain until the highly anticipated reunion episode of Married At First Sight airs tonight on E4 at 9pm, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the dramatic conclusion to this season.
This series has kept viewers rooted to their couches with its romantic highs and lows, fierce arguments, and unforgettable dramas.
One couple that truly embodied the rollercoaster ride of this 2024 series was Aviation Operations officer Alex Henry and Beautician Holly Ditchfield. Their wedding sparked intrigue among viewers, but the relationship quickly turned tumultuous when Holly discovered Alex’s remarks about wanting a “wife swap” should he not connect with his bride.
The duo ventured off to the Maldives for their honeymoon, which didn’t shy away from discord, culminating in Alex deciding to withdraw from the show.
Despite Alex’s decision to leave, Holly expressed her desire to pursue their marriage; however, the programme rules mandated that they continue together since one partner wished to keep trying.
Their efforts were in vain, and after the fifth commitment ceremony, Alex and Holly chose to depart from the E4 series and went their separate ways. Before his exit, a heated confrontation involving Alex and several female participants transpired, leading to an incensed Holly, reports the Daily Record.
Recounting the events to Lacey, Holly revealed: “After the commitment ceremony we had a major argument because I just didn’t’ like the way you were spoken to.
“What upset the most is after, he said ‘what’s wrong with you? ‘ and I said ‘I’m really missing my children’ and he just said ‘f*** this, I can’t be ar*** with this’ and he just walked off.”
After their initial split, Alex and Holly sparked rumours they might be patching things up when seen holding hands and sharing a peck in Manchester.
The pair further fuelled reconciliation talks after embarking on a road trip and by November of the previous year, they confirmed they were an item once again.
As of now, its a bit of a puzzle whether Alex and Holly are still an item as they haven’t been featuring each other on their socials recently. However, the reunion is set to clear up any confusion for those following their story.
