Bargain retailer B&M is now offering a new drink that customers liken to Prime Hydration, which sold out rapidly following its UK launch in 2022. Shoppers have now identified an exciting alternative they’re eager to sample.
Prime’s initial success was largely due to the internet popularity of its creators, YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI. The hype surrounding the energy drink led to it being snapped up almost instantly, with some people travelling great distances and paying substantial sums to secure a bottle.
This week, customers have noticed a fresh contender to Prime on the shelves of their local B&M stores, and many are keen to give it a go. The new hydration drink is Mās+ by Messi, created by football superstar Lionel Messi.
On the Facebook page, NewfoodsUK, a member posted a picture of the products, with the caption: “Leo Messi Hydration Drinks are now available at B&M Stores.” The bottle features vibrant packaging for different flavours – Berry Copa Crush and Miami Punch, reports the Mirror.
According to the Mās+ by Messi website, the drink is also available in Orange D’Or and Limon Lime League. At B&M, a 500ml bottle is priced at £4.
On the site, Messi is quoted as saying: “I wanted a drink that had the ingredients I need and amazing flavour. No compromise on quality ingredients. So I went to work on a drink of my own.”
The Facebook update about Mās+ by Messi swiftly gained traction, amassing many likes and comments within hours. Below the image, a shopper expressed their eagerness to sample the beverage: “I’m gonna need to try this.” Several other commenters immediately compared the drink to Prime. One individual predicted: “Next Prime phase coming up.”
Another tagged a friend, suggesting: “Leo would love these, just the same as Prime as they’re Leo Messi.” Further comments included someone saying: “So it’s pretty much the new Prime that everyone will over hype,” while another remarked: “Ain’t those just bottles of Prime with a new label.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with one person preferring Prime for its similarity, and another dismissing both as a “Just like Prime, waste of money.” The price point of Mās+ by Messi also sparked reactions, with one user quipping: “£4 a bottle no thanks lol.”
Another posted: “I honestly can’t believe they are trying to charge £4 for these” and yet another scoffed at the price: “£4 lmao it’ll be a hype that will die just like Prime.”
Someone else humorously exclaimed: “£4???!?? You’re having a laugh!” While Mās+ by Messi isn’t currently featured on the B&M website, interested customers can check their local store for availability. To locate the nearest B&M, click here.
