Married At First Sight UK: The Reunion is gearing up to light the fuse on TV screens, as an enticing preview has shown that a titanic clash is in store between a former duo. Set to broadcast on E4 on Monday, 24 February, this one-off special will gather the cast of the most recent series for a final get-together.
It seems Lacey and Nathan, whose love story unravelled post-filming for MAFS, have plenty still left unsaid. A snippet from the upcoming reunion episode signals a complex breakup, with tempers flaring as the two confront each other.
During their face-off at the reunion, an intense spat broke out as Lacey and Nathan wrangled over the collapse of their romance. At a particularly heated juncture, we see Lacey battling her emotions, confessing that both had a hand in their parting ways.
Nathan’s bombshell remark to a stunned Lacey was captured by The Sun in an exclusive clip: “So Lace, I didn’t come here for a showmance,” which prompted her response, “Neither did I.”
Delving further into their discord, Nathan recounted: “That’s not how I felt. The impression that I got after the experiment…” only for Lacey to interject with, “The impression? ! You blocked me.”, reports OK!.
He went on to justify his actions: “Why did I block you? As soon as you finished the experiment, you turned into a completely different person.”
In defence, Lacey insisted she attempted to “embrace” Nathan. He then brought forth a text message exchange between them, challenging her: “You didn’t say to me then ‘I think we should fake it’.”
He expressed that the text made him “sad”, while Lacey stated she “thought” he loved her. The disagreement between Nathan and Lacey persisted as she suggested they both played a part in the collapse of their relationship, but he seemed to have a differing opinion.
She tearfully said: “There’s no point saying ‘you did this, you did that’, we did fall in love with each other. We both added to the break-up potentially, do you not admit that? ” Nathan countered: “No! Can I just say, do you know how hard it was for me to open myself up to you.”
Nathan and Lacey allegedly parted ways in secret a few months after the MAFS filming concluded, keeping their split private while the show aired on E4. Nathan had previously revealed to The Sun that Lacey ended their relationship, suggesting they should “be friends”.
