Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith has been named in the League One Team of the Week after a stunning individual display for Leyton Orient.
The 23-year-old was on top form against Lincoln City as he assisted all three of Orient’s goals in a 3-2 win with passes that were determined as ‘key’ by WhoScored.com.
Galbraith also added three successful dribbles to his crucial contributions for the goals, which earned him a place in the division’s Team of the Week and a place in the history books.
By securing a hat-trick of assists, Galbraith is only the fifth player across the top four divisions of English football to do so this season, joining England international Cole Palmer, Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga, Leeds United’s Junior Firpo and Barrow midfielder Elliot Newby.
The Glengormley man has been on top form all season and has contributed to ten goals in 27 games this season for Leyton Orient as they chase down a promotion place into the Championship.
Galbraith was recently described by O’s boss Richie Wellens as a “Premier League player in the making” and the club rejected a £1million offer from Swansea City for him in the January transfer window.
“Ethan Galbraith was outstanding,” said Wellens after Galbraith scored in last Tuesday’s win over Mansfield Town. “He is a Premier League player in the making and younger players who watch him can see how strong he is in his running.
“He’s unbelievable and he’s brilliant. We’ve got loads of young players that should be watching him and going ‘he’s intense there, he’s always running, he’s always at it.’”
Bristol Rovers striker Chris Martin was named Player of the Week as he scored one and assisted on Rovers’ other two goals in their 3-1 win over Burton Albion.
