Victoria Beckham is “desperate” to succeed in her upcoming Netflix documentary, just as Meghan Markle gears up for her latest move.

Victoria, 50, is set to follow in her husband’s footsteps with a new Netflix documentary series chronicling her 30-year career in entertainment and fashion.

David Beckham, 49, recently revealed that convincing his wife to participate in the project “wasn’t the easiest thing”.

The former Spice Girl, who earned praise for her appearances in David’s successful Netflix documentary last year, will now take centre stage in her own series.

Speaking on Today with hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, David praised his wife’s work ethic and business acumen.

“She’s been working on our brand for the last 18 years, and she’s unbelievably hard-working, and no one gets to see that,” he said.

The former footballer added: “I convinced her to actually let people see what she does every day and what goes into her business. She’s a very clever and hard-working lady, so I want people to see that.”

David shared a memorable moment from his own documentary where he and Victoria danced to “Islands In The Stream”.

“This moment just happened we were in the tent all day and then all of a sudden I thought, you know, mum and dad should dance, the kids get embarrassed,” he revealed.

“We just jumped up, and you could see all the kids were embarrassed, but at that point, the song meant something to us, and we just danced and it was just us at the end of the day,” he added.

The announcement comes as Meghan Markle, 43, prepares to launch her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” on March 4.

The timing highlights the apparent strain between the Sussexes and Beckhams, who attended Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding but were reportedly not invited to the evening reception.

The relationship between the families appears to have cooled, with the Beckhams maintaining closer ties to King Charles and Prince William.

Brooklyn Beckham, David and Victoria’s eldest son, recently confirmed this dynamic on Watch What Happens Live, stating he sees Prince William more frequently.

“He’s just the sweetest guy ever. He really is. He’s really down to earth,” Brooklyn told host Andy Cohen.

Victoria is reportedly “desperate” for her documentary to resonate with American audiences, hoping to achieve the same level of popularity she enjoys in the UK, according to a source.

Sources close to the fashion designer reveal she is aware of the risks involved with such personal television projects.

“She thinks and hopes it’s going to go really well, but with this kind of TV there is always a risk that it might backfire in some way,” a source told The Mirror.

The documentary represents Victoria’s latest career evolution, following her journey from pop star to respected fashion designer and businesswoman.
