The much-anticipated grand finale of The Masked Singer UK’s sixth season will air tonight (February 15) on ITV1, and excitement is at an all-time high.
This series has been nothing short of spectacular, with a host of stunning reveals that have left audiences agape. Early unmaskings included Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway and Bake Off’s Prue Leith, followed by 90s sensation Macy Gray, T’Pau’s Carol Decker, and TV’s own Mel Giedroyc.
But the surprises didn’t end there, as artist Grayson Perry, Irish songstress Andrea Corr, rapper Example, and EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy also bid farewell to the show.
Now, only three contenders remain in the quest for the title: Dressed Crab, Pufferfish, and Wolf. Wolf, in particular, has caused quite the stir, with judges Maya Jama and Davina McCall dubbing him the most “attractive” contestant. And it’s not just his looks; he’s got a great voice to boot.
With the final showdown looming, let’s delve into the prevailing theories about the identity of the rock-loving Wolf, reports the Mirror.

Marti Pellow
Ever since Wolf belted out his first tune, fans of Wet Wet Wet have been convinced that the group’s lead singer, Marti Pellow, is the man behind the mask.
Not only does Wolf’s voice resemble Marti’s, but several clues seem to align perfectly with him. One such clue was the presence of three umbrellas, which could be a nod to the band’s moniker.
Another clue emerged as a tartan picnic blanket, hinting at Marti’s Scottish heritage. Guest judge Richard E Grant also spotted a Scottish accent during Wolf’s performance of Don’t Dream It’s Over by Crowded House last week.
Enthusiasts on X (previously known as Twitter) have been sharing their theories, with one fan asserting: “WOLF is 10,000% Marti Pellow – one of our greatest ever singers.”
“Another mesmerising performance from Wolf – he’s always such a powerful and commanding presence on that stage! Richard E Grant detected the Scottish accent – Marti Pellow!” commented another, whilst a third voiced: “Marti Pellow has to be the Wolf!”
To date, none of the show’s judges have mentioned Marti by name. Will his identity come to light in tonight’s episode?

Jason Donovan
The name of Neighbours legend Jason Donovan also keeps coming up, as fans recognise something familiar in Wolf’s singing voice.
In a recent video segment, Wolf played with multicoloured skittles, which many believe is a nod to the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Jason famously took the lead role in the production in 1992, and returned to it in both 2019 and 2021.
A few weeks back, Jonathan Ross suggested that Jason might be behind Wolf, eliciting nods from numerous fans on X: “I’m actually serious if Wolf isn’t Jason Donovan, I am DONE.”
“All I can hear is Jason Donovan for Wolf,” another person speculated, with a third adding their thoughts on why he might join the programme: “Someone just told me they think Jason Donovan @JDonOfficial could be Wolf. He is about to go on tour so he could be doing it to promote his tour!”

Simon Le Bon
Davina McCall seemed pretty convinced in her recent prediction of Simon Le Bon after piecing together multiple hints that matched the iconic musician.
As the lead vocalist of Duran Duran, Simon enjoyed massive success with the hit song “Hungry Like the Wolf” in 1983. This could very well be what inspired the wolf-themed character.
His better half is the model Yasmin Le Bon, which potentially aligns with the hinted model kit.
An enigmatic reference to Egypt may also point towards Simon since the legendary Nile Rodgers produced Duran Duran’s 1986 record Notorious.

Additional hints referenced Wolf striking out alone, suggesting his “opening gambit” was a step in the right direction. He’s also alluded to a “soap opera” and expressed ambitions to be “top of the food chain.”
Judging from his tone, it’s a fair assumption to say that Wolf is no amateur when it comes to the stage. Other potential identities bandied about include Hugh Jackman, Donny Osmond, Tony Hadley, and Kian Egan.
With the season finale looming tonight, social media has seen fans voicing their backing for Wolf, as one fervent supporter pronounced: “Wolf to win.”
One fan weighed in: “Had to be Wolf, Dressed Crab and Pufferfish for the final. Totally hoping for Wolf to win,” while another chimed in: “I just want Wolf to win because I love looking at the costume every week.”
But who is behind Wolf’s mask – is it a beloved figure from the 80s or perhaps an Australian soap star? The mystery will soon be solved.
