Bristol Walk Fest, the city’s annual celebration of walking, is calling for more sponsors and supporters to help expand the event and ensure its long-term future.

The festival, which runs throughout May, attracted over 3,000 participants last year, with more than 170 walks taking place across the city. Organisers aim to grow the event further, encouraging more Bristolians to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of walking while exploring new parts of their city.

Event Director Karen Lloyd highlighted the importance of securing additional support: “We are very proud to work with all our Bristol Walk Fest supporters and incredibly grateful to Bristol Ramblers for sponsoring our event. However, in order to grow the festival and ensure it can continue in future years, we need more support.

The vast majority of our events are free and inclusive, with walks aimed at people of all ages, interests, and abilities. Bristol Walk Fest is for everyone, and we want to be able to raise the profile of our event and get even more people walking. We are a small community-centred project doing brilliant work but are looking for more support.”

To achieve this, organisers are seeking sponsorship, programme advertising, in-kind support, and gift vouchers to encourage participation in post-event surveys. Sponsorship packages offer businesses promotional opportunities across printed materials, online and outdoor advertising, social media, and blog posts. Advertising space is also available in the event programme, which last year saw 8,000 copies distributed across the city.

Additionally, organisers are looking for a central, accessible venue to host the festival’s launch event, as well as a local business to donate £100 worth of gift vouchers for survey incentives.
