The Traitors and Strictly Come Dancing host, Claudia Winkleman, has recently become the face of the Jaeger range at Marks and Spencer – and there is one particular item she has modelled that has been sending her fans wild.

M&S shared some snaps last week of the presenter dressed in the Pure Cotton Belted Trench Coat from Jaeger – and Claudia’s Instagram followers have been rushing to the comments saying how much they “need” the coat.

M&S also posted a video to their Instagram account of Claudia swishing around in the long trench coat, saying how it made her feel “a bit like a detective”.

The camel-coloured trench is made from 100% cotton, with a robust double-cloth fabric and bound seams for extra durability. It also boasts a water-repellent finish for practicality, while a matching belt around the waist allows you to wrap yourself up nice and warm.

The double-breasted wardrobe staple is cut in an easy, regular fit, with a contrasting lining inside hidden under the chunky revere collar, and large, branded buttons for an elegant finish.

It is not suitable for machine-washing at home, but can be professionally dry-cleaned and ironed at a low temperature. The trench coat is available in sizes 10-20 at M&S.

It will set you back a pricey £199 – but M&S shoppers feel the “timeless classic” is a “worthy investment piece”, rating it 4.7 stars out of five on the store’s website.

One shopper wrote: “Really stylish trench coat. Timeless classic. Tried on in store, then ordered online as I decided this was a worthy investment piece. Went for a size 12 so I can wear jumpers underneath.”

Another added: “A really beautiful trench coat. Lovely long length, great quality, and nice weight. Best coat I’ve bought in ages.”

And a third said: “Excellent tailoring and cut. Hangs well and very good quality heavy cotton. Good fit, not too big, not too small, take normal dress size. Looks well when worn.”

Meanwhile, over on Instagram, Claudia’s followers have called the coat “stunning” and “superb”, with one commenting: “Noooo I don’t need any more coats… but now I need this one.”

However, one M&S shopper had a minor qualm with the trench coat, saying: “This trench coat is very nice, it is a good fit and true to size. However, I was very disappointed that it wasn’t lined.”

On Instagram, Claudia paired the trench coat with the M&S Harper Supersoft High Waisted Jeans, which you can get for just £32.50, and the Jaeger Pure Cashmere Crew Neck Relaxed Jumper for £175, which the presenter said “feels like marshmallow, but less sticky”.

If the Jaeger trench coat is simply too expensive for you, M&S also offers the Cotton Rich Belted Longline Trench Coat at a more reasonable £79, with a near-perfect 4.8-star rating from shoppers.

Elsewhere, Debenhams has the Dorothy Perkins Gold Button Trench Coat, in either camel or black colourways, which is now down from £75 to just £45. Or this Uniqlo Trench Coat is currently half-price, costing just £49.90 down from its original price of £99.90.
