Kate Garraway found herself extending an apology to her co-star after after an awkward interruption on Good Morning Britain.
On the episode of the popular ITV breakfast show on Thursday (February 13), Kate and her co-host Ed Balls were delivering the top news items of the day.
During one part of the show, the co-presenters experienced a clumsy moment, while chatting to Angela Rippon, a former Strictly Come Dancing star, who was on the show to chat about her Let’s Dance project.
In no time, Kate broached the topic of Angela’s legendary high-kicking performance on Morecambe and Wise that left viewers gobsmacked.
Engaging with Angela, Kate remarked: “That launched your dance career but your career was already on the way with journalism,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

Ed chimed in with a recollection: “I saw that at home on that Christmas and it was so amazing. What was it like? It was unusual for a newsreader to do something like that.”
Angela shared her experience, saying: “It was wonderful and of course Eric and Ernie were just brilliant to work with and they just made you feel so comfortable with them. They were just a joy to work with and I had a wonderful time with them.”
Kate observed: “The thing is you were clearly already dancing anyway.” To this, Angela acknowledged: “Well yeah I am quite flexible and like a lot of little girls I was sent to ballet class when I was four/five years old and I loved to dance and I still do and I’m naturally very flexible and it’s stayed with me all my life.”

Kate then subtly shifted the conversation, beginning with: “Now you want us to..” However, before she could complete her thought, Ed interjected, saying: “Before you move on.”
Realising her haste, Kate offered a quick apology: “Oh sorry.” Seizing the moment, Ed referenced Angela’s time on Strictly Come Dancing and her notable leg-kick, remarking: “The flexibility of your dancing on Strictly..”

Kate, eager to address the topic herself, cut in: “Oh no, I was going to come to that, don’t you worry about that. We were all amazed.”
Angela then shared her secret: “I just am flexible and when I was a young reporter I remember meeting a wonderful lady and she said ‘you have to remember, your body is like a machine full of millions of moving parts and if you don’t keep those moving they’ll become stiff.”
