Reality television star Gemma Collins has called out a Reform UK candidate after they called her a “pig in knickers” and a “fat lump o s***e”. The same candidate also ranted at “junkies” and called the Scottish town of Prestwick a “s******e dump”.
The vulgar comments were made by Sandra Taylor Kirkwood, a candidate for Kilmarnock North, in 2016 when The Only Way is Essex star, 44, was on Celebrity Big Brother. Kirkwood said: “I swear I would not get sick o kicking that Gemma Collins up n doon that hoose”.
Kirkwood added that she thought it was a “shame they never stiched [sic] her gob shut” after Collins was taken to hospital after an injury on the show.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Mail, Gemma called for Kirkwood to be evicted from Reform. Collins said: “She should be sacked immediately from Reform. The party shouldn’t allow a national treasure such as Gemma Collins who has contributed to the nation in times of despair, like lockdown, who was personally asked to be met by the King and Queen, to be abused like that.
“There is no place in Reform for such a person. I’m a lot tougher now and a lot of working in the industry is about a thick skin. My agent would say no comment but I’m sick of living in a no comment world.
“How can this person be allowed to be a politician in our country? And why would Nigel Farage want somebody so vile in his party? She hasn’t been asked to be met by the King and Queen, she’s not a national treasure.
“If someone has it in them to write such vile things about someone they don’t know they are best well away from politics.”
A spokesman said: “Reform UK Scotland expects and upholds the highest standards for our candidates and elected officials.”
Away from politics, Collins has been enjoying life, showing off her dramatic physical transformation last month, which included debuting a new short bob. Speaking about the new look, Collins wrote on her Instagram: “It’s so amazing to have my own hair again. THANK YOU to @edwardtaylorhair you are always a hair GENIUS”.
Collins also said she felt “free” since making progress on her weight-loss journey. Collins partnered with a weight-loss app called Yazen which prescribes weight-loss drugs, saying it “changed my life”, telling her fans: “If you, like me, have done every diet your whole life, I’ve got to 43 and I’ve finally found something that I actually lost weight on.”
Gemma said she’d decided to start taking medication – which is listed on Yazen’s website as GLP-1 weight loss injections – because it will allow her to “finally be able to live my best life and just be free from all that upset and stress and turmoil that comes with constantly trying to lose excess weight.”
