Easyjet has announced that it will stop running flights between Bristol Airport and one of Paris’ airports.

In a statement, it told Bristol Live that flights will cease operating from 28 March to Paris Orly Airport. Easyjet says it is focussing on the routes that prove most popular with customers.

Easyjet has urged customers that they can still access flights between Bristol and Paris, by using the Charles De Gaulle route. At present, the airline currently runs flights several times a week between Bristol Airport and Paris Orly airport, which is 18 kilometres from Paris City Centre.

It takes 45 minutes by public transport to travel between the airport and the centre, to tourist hotspots like the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre. Paris Orly is also closer to the city centre than the alternative option, Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, which travellers can still choose if they want to fly direct from Bristol to Paris.

Paris Charles De Gaulle, one of Europe’s busiest airports, is 30 kilometres from the city centre, taking around an hour by public transport. Easyjet told Bristol Live that: “Following a review of the route, easyJet can confirm that from 28 March, it will no longer operate flights between Bristol and Paris Orly.”

“We concentrate our efforts on maintaining and developing routes which prove most popular with customers, focusing on offering routes with the greatest demand.

We continue to serve our customers in Bristol with flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle, with up to 15 departures per week, and to over 80 destinations across Europe and North Africa.”
