Multiple fire appliances attended a fire at a commercial building in east Belfast last night.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze on Ribble Street close to the junction between the Newtownards Road and Albertbridge Road.

NIFRS confirmed firefighters battled the blaze from around 8.55pm until they left at 10.29pm.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Two appliances from KnockFire Station attended the incident.

“Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a commercial premises on the Newtownards Road.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one jet and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Firefighters left the scene at 10.29pm and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental at this time.”
