Vernon Kay playfully scolded Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls on-air with a sharp “Behave yourself,” amidst inquiries about his wife Tess Daly on Wednesday (February 12).
Gracing ITV’s morning programme to discuss his upcoming dance tour, Vernon faced questions surrounding the new celebrity edition of The Traitors. The show will feature Tess’s fellow Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman as host.
When Susanna pressed on the speculation of Vernon and Tess being roped in by Claudia to appear, Vernon teased: “Well, it keeps cropping up this Celebrity Traitors. We haven’t been approached, or have we?”
With Susanna noting that participants need be adept at deceit for Celebrity Traitors, Vernon quipped back: “We’re not doing it, or are we? So, we’ll see.”

Ed tried figuring out if Tess could pull off such deception, with Vernon disclosing: “She always laughs when she tells a fib, whereas I’m terrible… I think it’d be an interesting psychological experience that, it’s an amazing show,” reports the Manchester Evening News.
Eliciting laughter from GMB viewers, Vernon’s humorous instruction for Ed to “behave yourself” was well-received.
Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter ), with one writing: “@GMB @vernonkay telling @edballs to ‘behave yourself!’ has made my day,” while another chimed in praising Vernon’s grounded nature.
Anticipation is rising for the upcoming celebrity instalment of The Traitors UK, which will air later in the year. Celebs like Rebekah Vardy, Rylan Clark, and Clare Balding are tipped as favourites to join the cast.

During his interview today, Vernon also opened up about the speculation of him joining I’m a Celeb: All Stars in South Africa, hinting it’s not on the cards as he doesn’t want to tarnish his memories from the main show.
“The thing is, I had such a good time in the castle; I don’t want the experience to be ruined because what you see on air is a stark contrast to what goes on in the castle,” he explained.
“We bonded really tightly. We had really powerful women in our group, and I think that was something that the I’m a Celeb people learned. We had amazing people with amazing stories to tell, and we sat and listened – it’s a really powerful trait to have to be able to listen to other people’s stories.”
He wrapped up by saying: “It was a joyous experience and I don’t want that to be pushed to one side for something else,” but with a chuckle, he added: “Well, you never know. We’ve all got to keep the central heating on, Susanna.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
