A former police officer allegedly abused his position by trying to engage in a relationship with a vulnerable woman and then covering his tracks. The constable, referred to as PC Z, who was based in Yeovil, faces a misconduct hearing at Avon & Somerset Constabulary headquarters on Wednesday, February 19.
A notice on the force website said he was accused of breaching the standards of professional behaviour in terms of honesty and integrity; authority, respect and courtesy; and discreditable conduct. It said: “It is alleged that: Former PC Z has abused his position as a police officer by attempting to pursue a relationship with a woman who he knew to be vulnerable, contacting her without a policing purpose and attempting to cover up this contact.
“It is contended that (if proven) the allegations amount to gross misconduct.”
