Gino D’Acampo has found himself on the receiving end of support from former Coronation Street stalwart Vicky Entwistle after she unleashed a no-holds-barred statement on social media.
The Janice Battersby star accused ITV of conforming to a “woke agenda” after the channel’s news outlet discovered allegations of “unacceptable” and “horrendous” behaviour from D’Acampo over a 12-year span.
D’Acampo has vehemently denied all of the allegations levelled against him since ITV News published its investigation earlier this month.
According to ITV News, more than 40 people had detailed “unacceptable”, “inappropriate” and “horrendous” experiences working with D’Acampo across a number of his TV shows.
After the investigation came to light, ITV reportedly received further complaints of at least six occasions where D’Acampo exhibited “bullying” behaviour. The chef has again denied these.
With the saga dominating headlines of late, Entwistle took to X to share her thoughts on her former employers’ handling of the investigation into D’Acampo’s conduct.

Alongside a photo of the dad-of-three, Entwistle mused on the social media site: “I don’t know this man personally, therefore have no reason to stick my neck out in his defence.
“BUT!!! ITV played that man for all he was worth… cheeky, naughty, foreign, hilarious!!!
“It all fitted in 10 years ago… now with a new WOKE agenda they crucify him?!?!” (sic)
Her post received a mixed reception from X users but she isn’t the only familiar face from ITV to have publicly backed the Italian chef.

Speaking at the TV Choice awards, Loose Women star Kelle Bryan had nothing but kind words to say about the 48-year-old.
“To be honest, Gino’s always been funny and a big character,” Bryan told the Sun. “We’ve never experienced any issues with him – it’s always been a real pleasure.”
In light of the allegations, D’Acampo hasn’t been deterred from continuing to carry out his public engagements.
Meanwhile, both Fred Sirieix and Gordon Ramsay have returned to social media after working with D’Acampo on their Road Trip series, but neither has addressed the allegations facing the chef.
Regarding the “bullying” allegations that emerged after the investigation, D’Acampo told ITV he “emphatically denies treating staff in this way”.
He added: “I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is just not my nature, and I am horrified at these accusations – I do not recognise them, and they are very upsetting.”

On the “inappropriate” and “intimidating” allegations that were revealed in the ITV News investigation, D’Acampo’s full response read: “I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over 10 years ago.
“I have never been made aware of these matters previously and the allegations are firmly denied. I would not do anything that I thought would upset or distress anyone. This is simply not in my nature.
“I do not recognise the version of events being put to me. Not only have these allegations never been raised with me before, I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level and was commissioned on prime-time programmes during the period in which it is now suggested I was acting inappropriately.
“I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1,500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. I take such matters extremely seriously and the suggestion that I have acted in an improper way against is deeply upsetting.”
