Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to voice their frustrations over what they deemed a “pointless” debate on Tuesday (February 11).
The ITV morning programme had conducted a poll asking if comedian Peter Kay was justified in removing two hecklers from his Manchester performance on Saturday.
During his Better Late Than Never (Again) tour at the AO Arena, one audience member persistently shouted “garlic bread” – a well-known line from Kay’s repertoire – while another woman loudly proclaimed her love for the comedian, causing further disruption.
Kay, clearly unamused by the interruptions, turned to the audience to see if the hecklers were annoying them, too.

Following an affirmative response from the irritated spectators, security promptly escorted the disruptive duo out.
As they left, Kay quipped: “Go on, off you go, Lisa Riley” – likening the woman to the Emmerdale actress.
On today’s GMB, hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls oversaw a heated discussion between two guests who sharply disagreed on the matter. Yet, viewers seemed less than enthralled by the segment, with many expressing discontent on X (formerly Twitter).
One viewer commented: “This is the most pointless debate. Get the weather on,” while another questioned: “Seriously, do you need a poll for this? Come on, GMB news,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

One audience member expressed frustration over disruptions at performances, saying: “Hecklers, no, but if you’re continually interrupting the show to the detriment of others, yes. As normal, a common sense approach isn’t newsworthy!”
In the ongoing debate about crowd behaviour, another spectator added: “A couple of heckles yes, but when it takes over the show it’s boring! Some people go too far and it ruins it for everyone else.”
The celebrated Better Late Than Never tour kicked off in December 2022 and has just marked its 100th performance in Manchester. The success of the show has led to additional dates being scheduled, now extending the run until February 2026.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
