If you thought that Eagles fans would have a calm, restrained celebration after their blowout win in Sunday’s Super Bowl, you obviously do not know the Philadelphia sports fanbase.
Eagles fans took to the streets of Philly causing all sorts of mayhem on Sunday night as the team was putting the finishing touches on a 40-22 rout of the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
Video clips on social media showed the Philly faithful setting several items of fire, including Chiefs jerseys and a Kermit the Frog puppet, while also chanting “F*** Taylor Swift.”
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who had one of the worst games of his career on Sunday, has often had his voice compared to that of Kermit.
The clip featuring Kermit being burned included fans chanting “F*** the Chiefs” while fireworks erupted in the background.

Swift — girlfriend of Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce for more than a year — has been a frequent target for rival teams’ fans and was on the receiving end of jeers as she attended the game in New Orleans.
One clip showed Eagles fans lighting a Chiefs jersey on fire before someone said “Taylor Swift,” which led to some vulgar comments about the pop star, who hails from nearby West Reading, Pa.
Fans also were seen knocking down a traffic light pole and then stomping on the signals before carrying it away down the street. The clip, which was posted by FreedomNewsTV, says the lights were near Philadelphia’s City Hall.
Some fired-up supporters also jumped on top of ambulances to celebrate the franchise’s second Super Bowl title.
Another video showed a crowd looting a laundry truck and tossing towels into the air before setting several on fire in a pile on the street. Police were later seen responding to the blaze.
According to Fox News, the Philadelphia Police Department arrested 47 people during the hoopla, including on charges of vandalism and assaulting a police officer.
SEPTA, Philadelphia’s public transit system, had announced that several bus routes were suspended due to “anticipated large crowds and streets closures.”
Before the game had even ended, a DJ attempted to set up a booth in the middle of a median on Broad Steet. However, it was quickly shut down by police.
While Eagles fans certainly had their fair share of revelry on Sunday night, expect the party to keep going for a few more days.
The team is planning to celebrate the Super Bowl victory with a parade in the city on Friday, a team official and the city said.
According to team president Don Smolenski, the threat of a snowstorm in the region from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday played a role in picking the date for the celebration.
“Just watching the weather and we’ve got some snow coming this week, so we want to be respectful for the city to do what they need to do, he said during an appearance on 94WIP sports radio. ”And one extra day of planning doesn’t hurt. You know what, it’s a nice way to kick off the weekend.”
