Wayne Rooney is set to make his debut as a pundit on Amazon Prime tomorrow, marking his first role since departing Plymouth Argyle.

The 39-year-old former Manchester United legend will join the streaming service’s line-up of pundits for the Champions League clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The appearance comes after Rooney’s exit from Home Park on New Year’s Eve, where he left the Championship club following a difficult spell that saw Plymouth struggling at the bottom of the table.

The former striker has expressed interest in returning to management, but only for the right opportunity.

Both Sky and TNT, as the main Premier League broadcasters in the UK, could offer more regular appearances than their competitors.

The multiple negotiations highlight Rooney’s continued appeal in the football media landscape despite his recent managerial setback.

This won’t be Rooney’s first experience in the punditry chair, having previously appeared across various television channels.
