Tom Brady has warned Patrick Mahomes that he will likely never be able to get over his second Super Bowl defeat as the Kansas City Chiefs were thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Mahomes and the Chiefs went into Super Bowl LIX chasing history to become the first NFL team to three-peat.
But the game was over before it even got going as the Eagles’ defence overpowered the Chiefs at every turn.
Kansas City’s offence was unable to get anything going with Philadelphia sacking Mahomes a total of four times in the first half.

The Eagles held a commanding 24-0 lead at the break – the second-biggest in the history of the game.
And things failed to improve for the Chiefs in the second half as the Eagles completed a blowout victory 40-22.
Mahomes looked demoralised on the sidelines as his bid to become a four-time Super Bowl champion went down in flames.
The 29-year-old was being tipped to overtake Brady, who holds seven rings, in the GOAT debate prior to Super Bowl LIX.
Mahomes still has a long way to match Brady’s tally after his latest setback and the 47-year-old has warned the Chiefs quarterback that the defeats are hard to overcome.
“I think more about my three Super Bowl losses than I do the seven wins,” he said.
“I haven’t lived them down because I care so deeply.
“The reality of a loss in this game is that you just don’t ever get over them.”

But Brady offered some words of encouragement to the Chiefs quarterback and backed Mahomes to brush off the setback.
He added: “If there’s anyone who can bounce back from this it’s Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid.
“This organisation because of what it’s built on.”

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named MVP after an incredible display for the Eagles.
“I couldn’t be here without my teammates. The effort and determination that everybody has shown to get to this point, we got it,” he said.
“It’s always been about what we do, and how we respond to certain things – never about anybody else.
“It was a hell of a game today!”
