Supermarket chain Lidl has announced that it is holding nine store openings before the end of the month. Bosses said that hundreds of new jobs have been created at the locations.

There are four new stores being created – and a further five are seeing them reopened after extensive rebuilding and refurbishment. The latest wave of openings follows its first of 2025 in Northampton.

Ten new store openings were made in the run up to Christmas, including Bovey Tracey, Hemel Hempstead, and Ipswich, as part of the discounter’s ongoing expansion drive.

Lidl said the stores will deliver an economic boost to areas, creating hundreds of new roles across the country. Benefits to workersinclude industry-leading maternity and adoption leave, enhanced holiday entitlement, and an in-store discount.
