Wallace High School booked their place in the Schools’ Cup semi-finals after knocking out holders RBAI 21-3 in the last eight, a result that ended the Belfast city centre school’s bid to claim three titles in a row.
The Lisburn school will now face Belfast Royal Academy at Ravenhill with a spot in the St Patrick’s Day showpiece final to be played for following BRA’s 20-17 away defeat of Sullivan Upper.
Wallace have never lifted the trophy outright and ended up sharing it with Royal School Armagh in 2020 when the final was unable to be played due to the Covid pandemic.
The other semi-final brings Royal School Armagh and Rainey Endowed together after their respective quarter-final successes.
Hosts Armagh defeated Regent House 25-22 while Rainey also shaded their home quarter-final with Ballymena Academy by 24-17.
Royal School Armagh will play Rainey Endowed on Tuesday February 25 at Ravenhill with a 2.30pm start.
Wallace and BRA meet the following day at the same venue and also with a 2.30pm kick-off.
