Drinking plenty of water is advisable if you want to stay in good health.
It makes sure we stay hydrated, it’s good for us and it can even aid people with weight loss in some ways. These are just some of the big pros of introducing more water into your life.
A little while back, I wrote an article about how making a simple change to the way you drink it could boost your health even more. According to viral theories online, drinking warm water can boost weight loss and also encourage regular bowel movement.
If you sip on warm water on an empty stomach it’s alleged it could help you burn more bad fat, boost your metabolism and even ensure you experience regular bowel movement. Though I have no desire to lose weight, I decided to see if I could feel any better by opting for the simple drink more often.
As I said, I have no desire to lose weight, but I did want to stop drinking coffee to see what a difference it made to my body. While I’m by no means a huge drinker of it, I would normally start my day with one or two cups to get an instant caffeine hit before work, but now I hardly do this.
For weeks I’ve been opting for boiled water instead and, though it may sound boring to some, I’ve actually come to find it pretty comforting. It warms me up, keeps me full and I actually feel more alert throughout the day – perhaps because I’m not relying on caffeine for a bit of a buzz.
Another big pro I’ve benefitted from is that my stomach feels a lot less acidy. While I’ve never had big issues with drinking coffee, aside from struggling with sleep if I drink it late in the day, I did start to feel different when I stopped drinking it.
Personally, my stomach seems to feel more settled in the mornings, and I never get that queezy post-coffee feeling you can sometimes get. It breaks my heart to say it in a way, because I absolutely love a good cuppa.
I also noticed I no longer feel the urge to snack between meals. It may not be purely down to my choice of drink, but now I strictly stick to three meals a day, as I don’t get any cravings in between.
But it would be wrong to say there aren’t benefits of opting for the warm drink, because I’ve found it’s really done some good things for my body. Not to mention, if you want to stay regular, you may want to consider giving the simple drink a go.
It might seem a bit of a boring option but, over time, if you’re anything like me, you could find the taste becomes quite comforting. It’s a great way to warm up on cold winter mornings while ensuring you rehydrate properly after a peaceful night’s sleep.
Is warm water good for you?
There is evidence to show that drinking warm water can have its benefits. Due to the fact that dehydration is a common cause of constipation, it can actually aid this problem.
Upping your water intake is a good way to relieve and prevent constipation. When you stay hydrated, this helps to soften the stool, which therefore makes it easier to go to the loo.
If you consume hot water, this could help to ensure your bowel movements are regular. It could also aid the digestive process as, when water travels through your stomach and intestines, the body has a better ability to rid waste.
Meanwhile, it’s also been claimed that drinking warm water could help to boost the body’s metabolism, and potentially speed up calorie burning. If consumed before meals, it can help to create a feeling of fullness, which could reduce how much you want to eat.
The important thing to remember when drinking warm water is to ensure it isn’t too hot, as this can result in burns. Always make sure it’s a safe temperature to consume.
