Safe to say he has been unfriended.

Toronto Police said they made an arrest in an assault investigation after officers responded to a call on Dec. 14 at about 4 a.m. in the King St. W.-Dufferin St. area over a meetup gone wrong.

Police said the suspect and the victim had befriended each other through social media before agreeing to meet in person.

Seems that friendship did not last long as the two got into an argument before the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim before fleeing. The not-so-rewarding, face-to-face introduction resulted in a trip to the hospital for the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, Brian Gonsalves, 27, of Markham, was arrested on Jan. 29 and charged with assault causing bodily harm.
