Premier League | Luke Humphries sees off Michael van Gerwen to set up Chris Dobey decider

It won’t be a whitewash as Dobey finally finds his finishing touch, hitting the bullseye for a 126 checkout and this game will go into a seventh leg!

Nothing is happening for Dobey as he misses a dart at tops to get on the board, and a break for good measure, and Humphries takes out 100 again for his third ton-finish of the match and to further crush the spirit of Dobey.

One more leg and Humphries wins.

If Humphries wins tonight – and it looks like he will – then it is his finishing that will have won him the leg. He’s 80% on the doubles and after Dobey misses two darts at double-16 to get on the board, Humphries cleans up 28 on double-14 to break again. Ruthless.

Dobey is in a position to try and break back as he throws four perfect darts but from there it all goes pear-shaped and he lets Humphries back into it, to the extent that the World No.1 has time to spare when he hits double-20 to move 3-0 ahead. This is looking rather foreboding.

Another massive finish for Humphries as Dobey hits five when he wanted 20 to miss out on a dart at a double and the World No.1 hits double-10 to take out 100 and move a break ahead!

Some of Luke Humphries’ finishing has been utterly sensational tonight and with Dobey down on a two-dart finish, the World No.1 says no thanks and slams in two treble-18s and a double-10 to take out 128 to hold throw in the opening leg!

Chris Dobey’s walk-on music has been a hit with the Belfast crowd tonight and so it proves again for the Final. We are close to this game getting under way!

MVG is going the distance for the second time tonight as he does just enough to edge the 10th leg, taking out double-16!

What a mess on the doubles as neither player can hit the outer ring, MVG guilty of missing six darts to close out the leg, and Humphries – who isn’t much better – finally punishes him on double-4 to break back and get us back on throw.

MVG has rattled off three straight legs to take control as Humphries struggles on the trebles and two darts at 68 brings about the break!

Straightforward hold for MVG as he hits double-tops at the second time of asking to level us up.

An immediate break back from MVG as Humphries has a couple of shaky visits and the Dutchman cleans up double-16. We are back on throw!

Huge break from Humphries as he takes out 140 for the first break of throw! Was important he hit it, too, with MVG lurking on 32.

Humphries just misses double-18 for a 150 checkout but comes back on his next visit to hit double-9 and hold his throw after MVG missed 81.

And a similarly solid hold from MVG. Not quite Littler-MVG level but a good start to this match.
