Premier League | Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries clash as Chris Dobey waits in Final

Cross has a dart at tops to prolong this game as Dobey makes a blunder and hits 1 when 20 would have left a finish, but the former world champion can’t capitalise as he misses low!

Back comes Dobey and he hits double-8 at the first time of asking to book his place in the Final!

And he follows up the Big Fish with a big break!

Cross has a shot at the bull for the leg to move one away from victory but can’t hit treble-19 to set it up and instead Dobey takes full advantage on 120, hitting double-tops to take himself within touching distance of the Final with the darts!

Similarly to Cross in the previous leg, Dobey doesn’t need to go for the 170 checkout given his opponent isn’t on a finish – and isn’t even close – but after hitting back-to-back treble-20s he takes a second, then hits the bullseye for the maximum finish!

Suddenly this game has life.

He doesn’t need to go for it but Cross decides to take out 132 via T20-T20-D6! Dobey had put some pressure on with a 180 right before it but still wasn’t on a finish, so that was an excellent confidence booster for Voltage.

Cross breaks back with a two-dart checkout of 77 after a timely maximum visit, hitting double-10 at the first effort after Dobey just missed the bull to take out 129! We are back on throw.

It’s an awkward one on double-16 for Cross as his first two darts at the double sit across the bed, but he shifts across the oche to take it out and get back within one.

Dobey with a brilliant visit to the board for a 177 to set up one dart at double-8 and once again he doesn’t miss on the lower left of the board to open up a two-leg lead.

There’s a break as Dobey, despite a dart that is absolutely nowhere near double-16, hits double-8 at the first time of asking to win on the Cross throw.

This is uninspiring stuff, though, and the crowd have responded in kind. After the absolute quality of that Van Gerwen v Littler clash, the atmosphere has dropped considerably.

Another leg where Dobey looks awkward on the doubles as he misses six to check out double-16, but Cross is no better as he can’t find the bed either and Dobey levels it on double-8 eventually. Not exactly inspiring stuff.

Another match where both players look awkward on the doubles in the opening leg as Dobey nearly takes out 145 and then misses two darts at double-7, and Cross cleans up double-8 for a 25 finish to hold throw in the opening leg! Dobey had a chance there.

We’re still first to six in the Semi-Finals and it’s Rob Cross who will have the darts in this one!

The World No.1 was impressive without looking it and checks out 75 on double-12 with ease to move into the Semi-Finals, where he will take on Michael van Gerwen!

Every mistake from Aspinall has been punished by Humphries and it happens again as the two players mirror each other, leaving themselves on 150 and then 92, and it’s Humphries who takes it out after Aspinall tried to go double-double on 18s and missed, the World No.1 breaking back on double-16.

Humphries has a poor leg on the trebles and Aspinall capitalises, missing the first big treble on his checkout but bouncing back superbly by hitting treble-20 and then double-12 for the second leg in a row to break the Humphries throw!

Game on?

Aspinall is on the board and he celebrates with outstretched arms in more relief than anything else. He needs two darts at 78 with Humphries down at 16 and he’s opened up hopes that he might have a comeback in him.

That’s an 11-darter for Humphries as he throws four perfect darts and then takes out 85 in two. He’s started to hit his stride now.

Clinical from Humphries as Aspinall misses another two darts at double-10 to claim a leg and the World No.1 makes him pay in some fashion as he takes out 139 for another break of throw. This looks like it’s only going one way here.
