Home Bargains has impressed customers with its range of budget-friendly cabin bags, starting from just £5.99. Showcased on TikTok by Ella (@Thatgingerabroad), her post read: “PSA – Home Bargains has new travel bags for less than £10.”
The video has now amassed over 90k views. It features the £9.99 Salisburys Light Luggage Carry-On Cabin Backpack and the £5.99 Bordlite Under Seat Cabin Bag, reduced from £14.99.
The bargain finds have been a hit with shoppers, with one commenting: “If only I was in the UK right now, I’d stock up.” Ella replied: “Ahh no that’s such a shame! Hopefully they’ll stock them for a while – they’re so good!”
The affordable bags are not only a steal but could also help travellers save on baggage fees. However, as Ella noted in the comments, some airlines might classify the rucksack as a large cabin bag.
The Salisburys Light Luggage Carry-On Cabin Backpack measures 55 x 40 x 20cm, and the Bordlite Under Seat Cabin Bag measures 40 x 20 x 25cm. Jet2 says: “You may carry on board one piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm.”
Ryanair’s website says passengers can bring a small bag (40 x 20 x 25cm) on board for free or purchase cabin baggage (55 x 40 x 20cm). In this instance, the under-seat cabin bag is your best bet if you don’t wish to pay extra, though, you may prefer the backpack, which will offer you more storage space if you’re willing to pay to carry it on board.
As per easyJet’s website, all passengers can carry one small cabin bag on board for free. This bag can’t measure over 45 x 36 x 20 cm. However, passengers who book to bring a large cabin bag on board (max. 56 x 45 x 25 cm, including any handles and wheels) would be able to use Home Bargains’ bags.
The backpack could be a good option for frequent flyers who struggle with back pain or need extra luggage. Home Bargains says: “The adjustable straps, the zipped pockets and the lightweight construction make it ideal for carrying on your shoulders and flying past everyone waiting around with a suitcase.”
On the other hand, the under seat bag could come in handy on busy flights or train journeys when space is limited. The description says it is “perfect to fit under seat during flight when room in overhead is becoming more precious” and that “durable woven 600D shower proof polyester outer means it is built to last these long journeys.”
If you prefer to travel with a suitcase, Home Bargains also offers Salisbury Embossed Quilted Shell Suitcases. The buying options include a small for £24.99, a medium for £29.99, a large for £34.99, or a set of three for £89.97.
