The body of a man was found in Bristol yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, February 5. A member of the pubic called police after seeing a body in the water in the Chapel Pill Farm area of Pill around 3.30pm.

Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of a man who recently went missing in Bristol has been informed. They are being supported by specialist officers.

The man’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious. Officers are preparing a file for the coroner.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called by a member of the public to the Chapel Pill Farm area of Pill at around 3.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 February), after a body was seen in the water.

“Emergency services attended and a man was recovered from the water but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“While formal identification has not yet taken place, the next of kin of a man who went missing in Bristol last month have been informed and are being given support by a specialist officer.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are working to prepare a file for the coroner.”
