GB News stars Andrew Pierce and Bev turner have criticised Princess Kate’s recent decision to stop sharing details of her outfits with the media, questioning the practicality of the move.

The Princess of Wales has reportedly instructed Kensington Palace to cease providing information about her clothing choices during regular royal engagements.

Andrew argued this denies designers valuable exposure, whilst co-host Bev branded the decision “very odd” during their discussion of the royal’s new approach.

“You always, if a royal is out on the road, you get a note from the Palace saying, ‘she is wearing X'”, Andrew explained.

He emphasised the significant commercial impact of royal fashion choices, noting: “It would be a terrific boost for the designer. If it’s a Zara outfit, it sells out immediately.”

He also questioned how the Princess’s engagements would maintain public interest, asking: “Does that mean she is going to start talking about interesting things? What she does is, she chats to people, but she doesn’t make speeches about issues, is she? That’s the problem.”

Bev expressed skepticism about the practicality of the new approach on GB News.

“Now they’re changing it to say, ‘you need to concentrate on what she is saying, not what she looks like'”, Turner said.

She added: “In principle, I like the idea. But does it mean she is going to start going out in sweatpants and a hoodie?”

“If we’re not meant to care, maybe we’re not supposed to either,” she concluded.

According to Palace sources, the Princess wants to maintain focus on “the issues, people, and causes she is spotlighting” rather than her attire.

“There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing,” a source told The Times.

A close friend revealed Kate found it “enormously difficult” when she first began her Royal duties to have attention focused on fashion rather than charitable work.

The Palace may still disclose outfit details for major occasions, but not for regular Royal engagements.

The new policy was evident during Kate’s recent engagements in South Wales, where no outfit details were disclosed to the media.

These visits included a trip to Corgi, a family-run business in Ammanford specialising in handmade socks and knitwear, and a children’s hospice.

The change comes as Kate’s fashion influence has been significant, with royal expert Hilary Fordwich noting her impact on sales is “valued at approximately £4 billion to the British fashion industry.”
