Abbey Clancy joked her husband Peter Crouch spent their whole holiday “lying on top” of their ski instructor – as he was so bad at the sport.

The couple, who have been married for 14 years, encountered several mishaps on the slopes, with Peter proving to be a challenge for their tiny instructor. According to Abbey, Peter fell on top of the instructor around 10 times, leaving her struggling to hold his weight.

Abbey, a model and Strictly Come Dancing winner, told the Mail: “He fell on top of the instructor about ten times. Our instructor was tiny and she was skiing backwards.”

She added: “Pete basically spent the whole trip lying on top of her in the snow because she couldn’t hold his weight so he just fell over. Then I was stranded because I was scared of heights.”

The couple, who have been together for nearly two decades, have four children and host a podcast called The Therapy Crouch. They met in a Liverpool bar in 2006 and got engaged in 2009 before tying the knot in a lavish ceremony in Leicester in 2011, reports the Mirror.

In a recent episode of their podcast, Peter read a letter from a listener that reportedly left Abbey finding one of his comments “offensive”.

The author of a letter recounted a wedding experience, but the conversation took an interesting turn when Peter faced some backlash for his earlier comments.

Abbey interjected: “That’s after you said, basically, people shouldn’t get married.” Peter quickly tried to clarify, explaining: “I just said it doesn’t have to be the be all and end all.”

However, Abbey wasn’t satisfied with that, asserting she’d “listened back” to his words and deemed them “quite offensive”. She claimed it was “alluding to the fact that our marriage is one huge mistake”.

The former England player, who made 42 appearances before hanging up his boots, responded by saying it “wasn’t intended in that way”,as he had been referring to others, not their marriage specifically.

It comes as Abbey openly shared her struggles with anxiety, which she described as a “horrendous thing” that proved to be especially challenging during a family trip.

She recounted a particular incident saying: “We had to drive over these mountains and cross borders and I literally thought I was going to throw up and faint and I just could not stop, could I? To the point where my two little boys were hugging me, saying ‘mum, it’s okay’, which is so unfair for them.”
