A quantity of suspected laughing gas cannisters and cash were seized by police following a vehicle search in south Belfast over the weekend.
Police said a man has been arrested for a number of drug offences including possession with intent to supply.
He attended Musgrave custody suite after the incident and is assisting police with inquiries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “It is a criminal offence to be found in possession of nitrous oxide where its intended use is to be wrongfully inhaled, ‘to get high’.
“Heavy nitrous oxide use can also result in serious health harms such as neurological damage and even death due to risk of falling unconscious and /or suffocating from the lack of oxygen.
“Belfast District Support Team will continue to target Drug Dealers in Belfast City but we work best when the public work with us. If you know of any drug activities in your area call us on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
