A 38-year-old Vaughan man was arrested for allegedly uttering threats at a demonstration last weekend in the Bathurst St.-Sheppard Ave. area.
Toronto Police said officers investigated an incident on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Police alleged that a man approached an officer and claimed to be a member of the Kahane Chai (Kach), a group listed as a terrorist entity by Public Safety Canada.
Cops said the protester expressed anger towards counter-demonstrators and “allegedly made threatening utterances to cause grievous harm.”
On Monday, police executed a search warrant at a residence and allegedly seized clothing branded with the Kahane Chai name and crest, a soft-body armour vest, a .357 magnum lever-action rifle and scope, and 10 boxes of .357 magnum ammunition.
Eli Schwarz was charged with uttering threats and careless storage of ammunition.
Cops seek suspect after sexual assault on bus
An unidentified suspect is sought after a sex assault on a bus in Vaughan last week.
York Regional Police said a man boarded a public transit bus at Kipling Ave. and Hwy. 7 on Jan. 30 at about 4:30 p.m. Police said he sat beside the victim and, after a short time, tried to engage in a conversation with the victim and touched her in a sexual manner.
Police said the man exited the bus at 4:55 p.m. at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
Investigators have released a photo of a suspect.
Man accused of indecent act in Oshawa
Police say they believe there could be additional victims after a 35-year-old Oshawa man was charged with committing an indecent act.
Passersby reported seeing a male allegedly committing an indecent act and exposing himself to vehicles as they drove past in Oshawa’s Lakeview Park Ave.-Simcoe St. S. area. Police arrived on scene and made an arrest.
Police released a photo of their suspect, who is described as a white male with a slim build.
Corey Robert Szydlowski-Ingram was charged with committing an indecent act in public space.
Cops release image of vehicle tied to Burlington break-ins
Halton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect vehicle associated with four Burlington commercial break-and-enters.
Police said between Jan. 5 and Jan. 23, officers responded to four separate break-ins at commercial businesses in the city’s east end.
Investigators had observed three males, all dressed in black, and a suspect vehicle associated to these entries.

Boy, 16, charged after stabbing at Uxbridge high school
A 16-year-old boy was charged after a stabbing at Uxbridge Secondary School.
Durham Regional Police said officers responded on Monday to an armed person call at the school at 127 Planks Lane.
Officers arrived on scene and found a male suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
The suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody without incident.
The boy, who can’t be named per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and other offences.
Calgary man charged in Mississauga home invasion
A 25-year-old Calgary man has been charged in connection with an armed home invasion in Mississauga in 2023.
In a news release issued on Tuesday, Peel Regional Police said four suspects attended an address in the Mavis and Bristol Rds. area on Oct. 23. They were wearing hard hats and carrying clipboards and allegedly forced entry into the residence while the victims were inside.
Once inside the home, police alleged that the suspects violently assaulted and forcibly confined the victims while brandishing a handgun and making demands for property and money.
The victims suffered numerous but non-life-threatening injuries.
Following a lengthy investigation, investigators identified Carlos Sance Castro as a suspect.
A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued and last Wednesday, Sance Castro was located in Calgary by members of the Calgary Police Service.
He was arrested and transported back to the Region of Peel.
Sance Castro has been charged with robbery, forcible confinement, and assault causing bodily harm.

Driver charged with impaired after vehicle hits house
Toronto Police said a female motorist has been arrested with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a house in Etobicoke on Tuesday afternoon.
In a post to social-media site X, police said officers responded at 2:26 p.m. to reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that struck a house in the Lake Shore Blvd.-Louisa St. area.
Police said occupants of the townhouse were not injured, but the home was damaged.
