A dog was abandoned in the snow and frigid temperatures over the weekend in Georgina, which is located on the southern shoreline of Lake Simcoe, according to York Regional Police.

Officers say they were called Sunday at 8:15 a.m. to a dog park in the Lake Dr.-Robert St. area where they found a cane corso tied to a pole.

Police are looking for a man who brought the dog — now named Winter — to the park.
The animal did not appear to be in distress and had no visible injuries when police arrived.

It was taken to an animal shelter, but is not ready for adoption.
