A Northern Ireland entrepreneur says its new investment arm is aiming to invest around £10m in businesses over the next five years.

Lazaroo-Hood Group, which is being run by founders Ross Lazaroo-Hood and Janice Lazaroo-Hood, will be partnering with the team behind the equity crowdfunding platform FundMyPitch, to enable potential investors the opportunity to invest in the successful companies who join the family office portfolio.

It’s already made eight investments, including into two Northern Ireland business ventures.

According to Mr Lazaroo-Hood, it received more than 1,500 pitches so far, with face-to-face meetings with some 43 entrepreneurs.

The Lazaroo-Hood family founded Landmark Underwriting & Landmark Holding Group, an insurance intermediary group in 2016, and successfully exiting in 2024, along with co-founding Clearer Group in 2021, a beverage group with its commitment to inclusive employment practices for all abilities.

The Lazaroo-Hood Group is aiming to invest between £1.5m and £2m in 2025.

The founders will also be working with long-term family friend and businessman Jon Hayman, as they review and pick those businesses and entrepreneurs to join the Family Investment Office.

“I am excited about the interest in our Family Office, the significant investment of £10m over five years under our first initiative with the Lazaroo-Hood Group is an international opportunity,” Ross Lazaroo-Hood said.

“Personally, I love helping founder-led start-ups and with their exciting products/services and with inspirational Founder led, we will see the Lazaroo-Hood Group become a global powerhouse in the investment landscape.

“We look forward to assisting and supporting each of those joining the family office. We are excited for what the future holds both for the group but more importantly the entrepreneurs who we are investing.

“We celebrate those risk takers, the innovators, those dreamers, the amazing business builders that will shape industries for years to come. Let’s help build passionate entrepreneurs and their dreams.”
