A storm has centred around a meeting between Keir Starmer and his voice coach Leonie Mellinger at Labour Party HQ back in 2020. At the this time London was under strict Tier 4 restrictions which required people to stay and work from home.

New book Get In written by journalists Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund states that Mellinger was granted permission to travel as a “key worker”. She visited Labour’s HQ to advise Starmer on his response to Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.

At a Nato press conference in Brussels, Starmer firmly rejected suggestions he had broken lockdown rules, saying “Of course not,” when asked directly about the allegations, adding that “all the rules were followed at all times.”

Health Minister Karin Smyth told GB News: “I think what we’re seeing again is more mudslinging by the Tories on this issue at a time when they were partying.”
