A moped was deliberately set on fire in south Bristol. Emergency services were called to Oakhill Drive, Bedminster on Monday, February 3 after reports of a vehicle fire in the area.
Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after 7.30pm and found a moped well alight. Crews from Temple used a high pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Avon and Somerset Police were also called to the scene yesterday.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Temple were called at 19.37 on Monday, 3 February to reports of a vehicle fire at Oakhill Drive in Bedminster.
“On arrival, firefighters found one moped well alight and used a high pressure hose reel to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire is thought to have been deliberate ignition.”
Posting to social media at the time, Joe Iles, the Avon and Somerset Neighbourhood Police Sergeant covering Knowle, Filwood, Hengrove and Whitchurch, said in a post on X at 8.04pm: “Currently responding to reports of motorcycles on fire on Oakhill Drive. Officers are on scene with @AvonFireRescue.”
