I’m not at all surprised that the media in the main just doesn’t seem to get it when it comes to President Trump‘s new tariffs.
Up until now, we have been living with so much wokeness and political correctness and general madness whether, for example, somebody’s disability, race, gender, and all the rest mean more than their ability to do a job well, that I’m not surprised that no one can think straight anymore.
Trump’s tariffs are simple. What he is saying is “I mean business. When I say something to you, I mean it. When I say I will do something, I will.”
The tariffs are all about illegal immigration and drugs such as fentanyl. The US has been and continues to be destroyed by these more than by anything else.
No, there is not a direct connection between the tariffs and these issues, Trump is using them as pressure, as leverage.
He is saying to Mexico, Canada and China: “You need to tighten your control on these matters and stop this junk flowing into our country, otherwise I am going to squeeze the hell out of you.” And he means it, because within weeks of assuming office he put these tariffs in motion.
He is also, at the same time, sending a broader message to the world that when he moves on next to Gaza and Ukraine, when he says something our adversaries and others had better pay attention, just as Hamas did when he made his threat about the hostages.
Thank goodness we don’t have a typical lilly-livered politician who obfuscates and blunders around sitting on the fence. Whilst at one level it means everything to him, on another level Trump really doesn’t care what you think or say. He knows what needs to be done and he’s going to do it.
It was crucial for Trump to punch the bully in the nose on the first day at school and let people know whom and what they are dealing with.
This set the stage for everything he is going to do from here on and means that everybody is going to take him very, very seriously, and not treat him like the usual political leader of a nation.
It is a brilliant move and at the same time addresses what is really the major issue and has been for a long time for Trump – illegal immigration and the drugs that are destroying so many American lives.

Like the terrible tragic Potomac plane and helicopter crash, I am sure that behind Trump‘s statement that DEI was responsible, he already knew some facts that will emerge, probably through the Transportation Secretary or similar.
We already know there should’ve been two controllers on duty but perhaps one was in a team meeting about pronouns and perhaps the one on duty had not received sufficient training because they were a diversity hire or something like that, I don’t know.
But what I do know is that Trump is a master showman, a reality TV star for decades and he sure knows how to work a crowd.
