Bristol City have confirmed that Omar Taylor-Clarke has left Ashton Gate on a permanent basis, with the young midfielder joining Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship in a last-minute deadline-day transfer.
Taylor-Clarke, a product of the Robins’ youth academy, was a regular fixture on the bench during Nigel Pearson’s tenure at Ashton Gate and started three Championship matches during the 2022/23 campaign.
The Welsh youth international also featured in the Reds’ FA Cup run that season, appearing off of the bench against Swansea City, West Brom and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
However, the 21-year-old failed to make a single competitive appearance for City last term and spent the second half of the campaign on loan with Weston-super-Mare in the National League South.
So far this season, and under the management of Liam Manning in general, Taylor-Clarke has not been named in a single first-team squad and has instead been a regular fixture in the Under-21s midfield at the Robins High Performance Centre.
The Robins are well-stocked in the middle of the park currently, with the likes of Jason Knight, Max Bird, Joe Williams and Marcus McGuane all competing for just two places in Manning’s starting line-up and that has made it difficult for the former Weston midfielder to force his way into the fold at Ashton Gate.
Taylor-Clarke last put pen to paper on a contract extension in October 2022 and with that deal set to expire at the end of the season, he has called time on with his Robins to head north of the border on a deal until the end of the current campaign.

Dunfermline have already dealt with City during the winter transfer window. Young forward Ephraim Yeboah joined the Scottish Championship club on loan for the second half of the season ahead of the Reds’ 1-1 draw with Oxford United at The Kassam Stadium and made his debut off of the bench against Raith Rovers on Saturday.
Micahel Tidser’s side currently sit eight in the Scottish Championship, 10 points clear of bottom-of-the-table Airdrieonians and one point ahead of Hamilton Academical who occupy the relegation play-off position.
