Glossybox is giving the likes of Boots, LookFantastic and Space NK a run for their money with their Valentine’s Day Edit, promising shoppers savings of over £100. This self-care package consists of nine high-quality items from illustrious brands, meant to make this February 14 extra special.

In the box are treats from beauty heavy-hitters including Illamasqua, No7, Bobbi Brown, and Peter Thomas Roth, collectively valued at over £150. However, the curated collection is available for £45, with an added discount for Glossybox subscribers.

Meant to ‘pamper, inspire, and empower’, the haul ranges from makeup primers and hair care to skincare and scents, with individual items priced from £4.99 to over £30, reports the Mirror.

Standing out in the array is the Illamasqua Matte Veil Primer, normally £34 by itself. Featuring a cream-gel texture, the primer effortlessly melts into the skin to soak up excess oil and provide a matte finish, all the while locking in moisture to curb dryness. It also increases the longevity of makeup wear and manages shine throughout the day for a smooth, matte look.

Over on the LookFantastic site, customers have shared their experiences, with one fan stating: “This is a good primer gel that leaves skin nice and smooth. You don’t need much either. Slightly overpriced though.”

Another customer expressed, “This makes my makeup look incredibly smooth. It also held the oil because all day! Will definitely buy again.” However, one user wasn’t entirely satisfied, noting: “Not my favourite it pilled when using my usual complexion makeup but will continue to try it with other products.”

Yet, even if a couple of items from the selection don’t suit you, the favourites that do are likely to be worth more than what you’ve paid for the whole set. Plus, passing on the less favoured items to friends or family could score you some serious brownie points.
