The Labour Party has denied that Keir Starmer breached Covid rules in 2020 when voice coach and actress Leonie Mellinger visited Labour Party headquarters.

Journalists Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund said in their book Get In that Keir Starmer enlisted the help of Leonie Mellinger to help him prepare for a speech in response to then Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.

Exerts from the book say she visited Labour HQ on 24th December 2020 and that she qualified for “key worker” status.

During this period London and the South East were under Tier 4 restrictions which meant that no households were allowed to mix and people had to work from home unless unable to do so.

Starmer is facing criticism over the matter with former Conservative Minister Richard Holden writing to the Prime Minister saying “Do you think it would be right for other members of the public to get acting lessons during tier 4 restrictions?”

Ben Leo questioned whether Starmer should be forced to resign – what do you think?
