A trio of unidentified males is sought for kidnapping a store owner as part of a downtown retail robbery Thursday night.

Toronto Police say officers responded to a robbery call in the area of Dundas St. E. and Bond St. – just west of Church St. – at 7:45 p.m.

Police allege three males kidnapped the owner of a gold bullion store from another location in Toronto and returned him to his store.

The abductors entered the store with the victim and ransacked the business in search of gold, eventually fleeing the scene with a “large quantity” of gold.

The victim was left at the store and suffered minor injuries.

The Holdup Squad is investigating and seeking help from the public in identifying the individuals involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
