Dara Huang has described herself as a “single parent”, despite co-parenting her eight-year-old son with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and his wife, Princess Beatrice.

Edoardo dated Huang, a Floridian architect, for three years and they share an eight-year-old son named Wolfie.

Despite their co-parenting success, Huang has revealed her aspirational vision for supporting other single parents.

Speaking to Tatler, she shared: “If I had all the money in the world, I would probably build a commune for single parents, because it’s so nice to be able to put children together.”

The successful architect acknowledged the challenges of maintaining a work-life balance as a single parent.

“I feel like I spend most of my life looking for single mums to hang out with,” she admitted candidly.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who married in 2020, welcomed their newest addition to the family last week, with the arrival of daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose.

The baby girl was born several weeks early at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on January 22 at 12.57pm, weighing four pounds and five ounces.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the safe delivery, stating that Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family were “delighted with the news.”

The newborn joins big sister Sienna, born in 2021, and stepbrother Wolfie.

Huang previously offered a candid glimpse into her harmonious co-parenting arrangement with Edoardo and Princess Beatrice.

The architect has maintained a remarkably positive outlook on their family dynamic since Edoardo’s marriage to Princess Beatrice in 2020.

At the time of the royal wedding, Huang expressed her warm wishes, stating: “I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.”

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Huang shared her refreshing “the more, the merrier” philosophy on their blended family arrangement.

“Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides,” she explained. “I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him — because it didn’t have to be so easy.”

She emphasised the importance of perspective in co-parenting: “It’s all about your point of view. I don’t understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn’t make any sense.”
