A child has been taken to hospital following a blaze in north Belfast.
Emergency services are currently at the scene of the fire on Veryan Gardens in Newtownabbey.
The Air Ambulance landed in the area shortly after the blaze broke out at just before 1.40pm on Friday.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said it received a 999 call at 1:37pm
“NIAS despatched one Emergency Ambulance crew and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident,” a spokesperson said.
“The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to attend.
“Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children by ambulance.”
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) crews are also in attendance with several appliances including an aerial platform despatched.
A spokesperson said: “We’re currently at the scene of a fire in Veryan Gardens, Belfast.
“The incident is ongoing.”.
